Midfielder joins from St. Pauli II
With Gwang-in Lee, FSV Frankfurt has made its last new signing for the upcoming 24/24 regional league season for the time being. The 23-year-old South Korean most recently played for FC Sankt Pauli U23. The attacking midfielder previously played in the second Portuguese league for CD Mafra, for whom he also played in the u19s. Further stages of his football education included the South Korean clubs Ulsan Hyundai, Paju City and Suwon Samsung Bluewings. Lee made a total of 59 appearances for FC Sankt Pauli in three seasons in the Regionalliga Nord, scoring ten times and setting up twelve goals.
Gwang-in Lee: ‘I’m delighted to be playing for such a good club. I want to be ready for action as soon as possible and play a top season with the team.’
Tim Görner, Head Coach FSV Frankfurt: ‘Gwang-in can be used variably in the offence and will provide a lot of dynamism in the final third with his ball security and speed dribbling. With his speed, he makes our attacking play even more versatile and creates a goal threat with both the final pass and his own finishing power.’
Robert Lempka, Managing Director of FSV Frankfurt: ‘Lee is a player who is quick as an arrow and has the potential to cause problems for any defence. In terms of character, he fits in very well with our FSV and fully embodies our values.’
