Contract with the defender extended ahead of schedule
FSV Frankfurt has extended Jan-Erik Eichhorn’s contract, which was due to expire in the summer, ahead of schedule. The 22-year-old defender moved from Hannover 96 II to the traditional Bornheim club in June 2023. The Hannover native made 22 appearances for the Reds in the 22/23 season. Due to a long-term injury at the start of the current season, Jan-Erik ‘Beppo’ Eichhorn has made ten competitive appearances for FSV Frankfurt so far, scoring one goal and assisting one goal.
Jan-Erik Eichhorn: ‘I’m delighted to be able to play for FSV Frankfurt again next season. I feel very comfortable both at the club and in the city and am convinced that I can take my next steps here on the Bornheimer Hang and continue to develop here.’
Tim Görner, Head Coach: ‘After his lengthy injury, Beppo quickly fought his way into the team after the winter break. With his unrestrained running performance and hard tackling on the left flank, he will continue to drive his development with us in the coming season.’
Thomas Brendel, sporting director: ‘We’re delighted that we can finally see Jan-Erik Eichhorn on the pitch on a permanent basis after his serious injury in the first match of the season. He quickly got back to his best and it’s hard to imagine the squad without him at the moment. We are therefore very pleased that we will also see him in the FSV jersey next year.’
