32 – this is how many players from the Youth Performance Centre (NLZ) of the FSV Frankfurt have made it into professional soccer since 2009. 32 players who had the dream of being professional soccer players have fulfilled this dream after receiving training at the FSV Frankfurt’s Youth Performance Centre. The fact that the FSV attaches great importance to its own youth is evidenced by the fact that 23 players have made the leap from their own youngsters to the first team of the FSV since the 2016/2017 season.
As one of only nine regional league players in the whole of Germany, the FSV operates an NLZ – and attaches great importance to the training and promotion of young soccer players as well as the permeability between the junior and senior levels. The good training of the players at the Bornheim Youth Performance Centre is well known and recognized throughout Germany.
Since 2009, the football club has held the status of a licensed Youth Performance Centre by the DFB. A total of only 55 other clubs in the whole of football Germany have this title – including all 36 first- and second-league clubs.
In the 2020/2021 season, Sava-Arangel Cestic made his Bundesliga debut for 1. FC Köln. He played on the 9th day of the game in the 2:1 away win of the Cologne team against Borussia Dortmund from the start – and immediately convinced with a “kicker” score of 2.5. In the 2015–2016 season, Cestic played for the Bornheimer U15 team. He then moved to FC Schalke 04 and from there to FC.
