The North Hesse-South Hesse duel is coming up this weekend!
Matchday 11: KSV Hessen Kassel
After last weekend’s 1-0 home win against 1.FSV Mainz 05 II, FSV Frankfurt will visit KSV Hessen Kassel next Saturday for a clash between northern and southern Hesse. The Bornheim side are currently unbeaten in eight league games in a row, are in second place in the table, are level on points with current leaders Kickers Offenbach and can take over the top spot in the South-West Regional Football League with another win, at least for Saturday.
KSV Hessen Kassel is currently in its fifth regional league season since being promoted in 2020. Before being relegated in 2018, Hessen Kassel had already played in the fourth division for several years. KSV only managed to return to the regional league at the second attempt in the 2019/2020 Hessenliga season.
KSV started the current season with a 3-0 away defeat at the U23s of 1.FSV Mainz 05. Kassel only picked up their first points on matchday three with a 2-0 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt II. The Lions have failed to pick up any points in their last two games. In the last weeks of September, Kassel lost 2-0 at home to TSV Steinbach Haiger, and in their last away game, KSV went down 6-2 at Kickers Offenbach. The team of head coach Alexander Kiene, who has been in office since November 2023, is currently 14th in the table with 10 points, one place ahead of the first relegation spot.
