FSV goes on the hunt for points in Bahlingen on Saturday
Bahlinger SC vs. FSV Frankfurt
After FSV Frankfurt deservedly picked up three points in the top-of-the-table clash against 1899 Hoffenheim U23s and tested themselves against the German U19 national team during the week, FSV now face their next competitive match in the Regionalliga Südwest at Bahlinger SC next Saturday at 2 pm. With a win at the weekend, the Black & Blues can remain at the top of the table.
In the first leg on August 31, 2024, Bornheim welcomed Bahlinger SC. There were no goals for a long time that day, with FSV only scoring in the final third of the game to make it 1-0 through Lukas Gottwalt in the 62nd minute. The 1:1 equalizer was scored very late on, which literally took the butter off FSV’s bread. Bahlingen’s Ali Ibrahim scored the late goal in the 95th minute, the last minute of the game.
While the team from Bornheimer Hang is currently fighting for promotion, Bahlinger SC is fighting to stay in the league this season. With 23 points so far, the team from Kaiserstuhl is in 14th place in the Regionalliga Südwest. BSC did not pick up any points on the first two matchdays, but then went on a short winning streak with four successive victories across all competitions. Nevertheless, head coach Dennis Bührer’s team failed to take the momentum with them and increasingly slipped down the table. Bahlinger SC strengthened its squad during the winter break by signing left-back Davino Knappe from SC Freiburg’s second team. With a win against FSV Frankfurt, BSC can secure important points in the relegation battle.
