Crowdfunding to honour the club's history
What is this project about?
The project is about revitalising historical events and traditional values. FSV Frankfurt is one of the most traditional sports clubs in Hesse and is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. Structural measures are intended to commemorate the successes of the past and the major contribution that FSV has made to Frankfurt’s development into a city of sport over the past 125 years. With Richard Herrmann, FSV produced a football world champion in 1954 and with Armin Hary a 100m sprint world record holder and two-time gold medallist at the 1960 Olympics. FSV was one of the most successful football clubs in Germany until the 1960s and always played in the top league.
Nowadays, many sports clubs focus on short-term success, while the revitalisation of large traditional clubs such as FSV is intended to help bring social values more into focus.
What are the goals and who is the target group?
The target group is primarily members, fans, partners and friends of FSV Frankfurt, but also all residents of the greater Frankfurt area for whom FSV has provided many wonderful moments in the past.
Why should you support this project?
With this project you support the realisation of measures that commemorate FSV Frankfurt’s valuable contribution to sport and society over the past 125 years far beyond the borders of Frankfurt.
What will happen with the money if the project is successfully funded?
The money will be used for specific projects to mark the 125th anniversary. These include the renewal of the two large club crests on the stadium building, the creation of a ‘Wall of Fame’, the installation of historical pictures in the stadium building and the creation of a club chronicle. In the event of overfunding, funds will be channelled into the expansion of the club archive.
