Contract with Tim Görner extended ahead of schedule
FSV Frankfurt has prematurely extended the contract with its head coach, which originally ran until summer 2025, by a further year. The extended contract is the logical consequence of a successful collaboration that began when Görner took over as coach in March 2022 in a relegated position. He initially led the team to relegation, followed by the most successful regional league season to date, which included winning the Hessen Cup and another single-digit finish in the table last season.
The prospective pro licence holder will be supported by Kevin Kühn, who has performed outstandingly as head coach of the U15s at the youth training centre in recent years. The coaching team also includes assistant coach Analyse Constantin Friedrich, goalkeeping coach Christoph Gerigk and athletics coach Fabio Spataro. The staff is completed by the functional team with physiotherapist Bastian Hintz, sports psychologist Julius Martiny, team manager Michael Zindel and team doctors Dr Frank Fleischmann and Dr Joachim Eckert.
Tim Görner, Head Coach FSV Frankfurt: ‘Together with my coaching and functional team, I am looking forward to the challenges ahead with great anticipation. Together, we have managed to put FSV on the right track and our goal must be to continue on this path in the long term in order to establish FSV in the top half of the table once again. Together with the team, we on the staff will do everything in our power to continue our sporting development.’
Robert Lempka, Managing Director of FSV Frankfurt: ‘We are proud to announce the contract extension of Tim Görner and his team. Under Tim’s leadership, our team has developed steadily in recent years. The daily hard work of the coaching and functional team as well as their commitment on and off the pitch have convinced us to continue on this path together. We are firmly convinced that continuity in the coaching position is the key to success. Our club is pursuing a long-term vision, which the coaching team shares and is working hard to realise our goals. Together we are creating the basis for future success.’
Ahmed Azaouagh, captain 1st team FSV Frankfurt: ‘I am delighted about Tim’s contract extension. The club’s decision to make long-term plans with the coaching and functional team motivates us as a team to continue working hard to achieve our common goals.’
