FSV welcomes the Degerloch team
FSV Frankfurt vs. SV Stuttgarter Kickers
After the intense and ultimately annoying 3-3 draw at Eintracht Trier, FSV Frankfurt have their next top-of-the-table clash this Sunday. The Black & Blues welcome Stuttgarter Kickers to the Bornheimer Hang.
On matchday nine, FSV hosted Stuttgarter Kickers at the Degerlocher Stadion on the Waldau. After a goalless first half, Gwangin Lee was shown the red card 20 minutes before the final whistle. Head coach Tim Görner’s team were therefore outnumbered in the final minutes. However, the visitors showed strong morale and willpower and scored the winning goal in the 89th minute through Sho Sannomiya to make it 0:1 from the point of view of Stuttgart, who were celebrating their 125th anniversary on the very day of the match and whose big birthday was tainted by the home defeat.
The Kickers, who missed out on promotion to the third division on the final matchday last season, got off to a good start in the new regional league season. With a 2:1 home win in the opener against Frankfurt Eintracht U23 and their first defeat on matchday eight at Kickers Offenbach, head coach Marco Wildersinn’s team played at the top right from the start. After 25 games in the league, the Blues are fifth in the table and could continue to dream of promotion with a win. However, FSV, who are currently in second place, want to give their all in the battle for the championship in order to close the gap to leaders Hoffenheim as much as possible.
