FSV travels to Bruchwegstadion on Wednesday
1.FSV Mainz 05 II vs. FSV Frankfurt
Following last Sunday’s painful 0-1 home defeat against Stuttgart Kickers, FSV Frankfurt will face the U23 team of 1.FSV Mainz 05 in an away game on Wednesday evening as part of the English week.
On the tenth match day, the Black and Blues welcomed Mainz to the PSD Bank Arena. After a goalless first half, FSV striker Cas Peters scored the first goal of the game in the 66th minute. The score remained 1-0 at the end, with the home side picking up another three points. The Nullfünfer are currently fighting against relegation, having failed to pick up a single point in their last five league games and currently sitting in a direct relegation spot with 28 points. A home win is necessary for head coach Benjamin Hoffmann’s team to leave the basement.
FSV head coach Tim Görner will have to watch tonight’s game from the stands, as he received his fourth yellow card in the last game against Stuttgart and is therefore suspended for today. Kevin Kühn will take his place on the head coach’s bench today. Giorgio Del Vecchio is also suspended in Mainz due to yellow cards.
