City derby in Dreieich: FSV faces off against Eintracht U21
Matchday 29: Eintracht Frankfurt II vs. FSV Frankfurt
Following their 1-4 defeat in the Hessian derby against KSV Hessen Kassel, FSV Frankfurt now face Eintracht Frankfurt’s second team in the city derby at the Ahorn Camp Sportpark in Dreieich this Friday evening.
On the twelfth match day, the Bornheim team won 3-1 at their home ground, the PSD Bank Arena. The Black and Blues took the lead in the 32nd minute through Lucas Hermes and increased their lead to 2-0 and 3-0 in the second half through Cas Peters and Tim Latteier, both from the penalty spot. In the final quarter of an hour, Eintracht scored a consolation goal through Paul Wünsch to make the final score 3-1. While Eintracht remains embroiled in a relegation battle, FSV has increasingly dropped out of the promotion race in recent weeks.
In the second half of the season, SGE U21 built up a series of four unbeaten games, earning important points in the relegation battle. In their last Regionalliga game at Bieberer Berg against Kickers Offenbach, head coach Dennis Schmidt’s team, who took over at the start of the season, lost 0-1 in the last minute of the game and are currently in 16th place in the relegation zone.
On the side of today’s visitors, head coach Tim Görner will continue to be without Malik Memisevic, Jan-Erik Eichhorn, and Maxim Emmerling due to injury. The U21 team will be missing Louis Kolbe (yellow-red card suspension) and Max Hauswirth (red card suspension), among others.
