Home series to be continued: FSV welcomes Barockstadt for derby
FSV Frankfurt vs. SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz
After last Saturday’s 3:2 defeat at Bahlinger SC, FSV Frankfurt face a derby match against SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz on the Bornheimer Hang this weekend. Depending on the results of the parallel games, a win could see the Bornheim side go top of the table.
The two teams drew 1-1 on the seventh matchday of the current regional league season. After a goalless first half, Patrick Schaaf of the Baroque Towns scored less than five minutes into the second half to make it 1-0. Fulda’s lead lasted exactly half an hour until Cas Peters netted in the 79th minute to seal the final score.
After a rather mediocre start to the season and a brief detour to the upper edge of the relegation zone, SG Barockstadt settled in the middle of the table. Fulda are safely in mid-table with 32 points and are nine points clear of the relegation places. However, they are twelve points behind FSV and thirteen points behind league leaders Hoffenheim II, meaning that the team no longer plays a role in the promotion race. Fulda seem to be happy with the current situation, as they did not make any new additions during the winter break.
