Last home game of the year: FSV hosts Freiburg II
Matchday 20: SC Freiburg II
The painful 1-0 away defeat against Offenbacher Kickers on the first Sunday of Advent meant that FSV Frankfurt have yet to pick up any points in their first two games of the second half of the season. Tomorrow Saturday afternoon, the Black & Blues will host SC Freiburg U23 for their last home game of 2024 and will be looking to end the season with a win as they head into the well-earned winter break.
On matchday three, head coach Tim Görner’s team traveled to Breisgau to face the Bundesliga club’s second team. FSV secured their first three points of the current regional league season with a 3:0 away win thanks to goals from Hassan Mourad, Cas Peters and Birkan Celik. From that moment on, Frankfurt would go 13 league games in a row without defeat.
Head coach Benedetto Muzzicato’s team started the new season with a 2-2 draw at home against Kickers Offenbach. The relegated third-division side has built up several mini-series over the course of the current season. After 19 games played in the Regionalliga Südwest, the Breisgau side are fourth in the table, just behind FSV and three points behind. With an away win, Freiburg could move up to third place, while Bornheim will be looking for a home win to keep them at the top of the table.
