The 2025 Krombacher Hessen Cup Final will take place at the PSD Bank Arena!

The final of the Krombacher Hessen Cup competition on May 24, 2025, will take place at the PSD Bank Arena in Frankfurt. This was decided by the executive committee of the Hessian Football Association (HFV) during its meeting yesterday (April 9, 2025) following a proposal by the association’s football administrator Robert Neubauer.

The primary factors influencing the decision were the necessary infrastructure, security, marketing, and media requirements, as well as the costs associated with hosting the event. The HFV received positive feedback on the application process and engaged in fruitful discussions with several stadium operators. A decision has now been made from among the excellent applications in order to ensure professional preparation.

“In terms of infrastructure, our full-time staff found no significant differences between the applicants. These venues are therefore ideally suited for hosting the Krombacher Hessen Cup final. For this reason, and in line with our commitment to our member clubs and the teams participating in the final, the cost factor was the deciding factor in favor of the PSD Bank Arena in Frankfurt,” said association football administrator Robert Neubauer.

In October 2024, the Hessian Football Association published the tender for hosting the Krombacher Hessen Cup finals in 2025 and 2026 and sent a detailed list of requirements to all potential applicants. This catalog defined the infrastructural, security-related, marketing-related, and media requirements for hosting the final. The key requirements included a minimum capacity of 5,000 seats, covered stands with numbered seats, an officially approved security concept with clear fan separation measures, and media technology equipment for TV broadcasting. In addition, specifications for the ticketing and accreditation system and for the provision of a VIP area for HFV partners and sponsors were included. Interested stadium operators had until December 13, 2024, to submit a non-binding expression of interest.

On this basis, the HFV then held direct talks with those responsible for the potential venues in order to take their individual circumstances into account and develop tailor-made offers together with the operators. In January and February 2025, on-site inspections took place, during which
representatives of the HFV and the venues reviewed the local conditions. The infrastructural and organizational requirements as well as the possibilities for implementing the HFV specifications were evaluated.

The decision on the venue for the 2026 Krombacher Hessen Cup final will be made after the 2025 final and before the draw for the upcoming season’s matches. There are additional applications for this final.
