FSV welcomes Eintracht Frankfurt II for a small city derby!
Matchday 12: Eintracht Frankfurt II
FSV Frankfurt are on a roll in the current Regionalliga Südwest season. The Bornheim side have now been unbeaten in nine consecutive league games and have won all of their last four matches. Next Saturday, FSV will welcome Eintracht Frankfurt’s U21 team to the Bornheimer Hang in a small city derby. Due to last Sunday’s goalless draw between Eintracht II and Offenbacher Kickers, the Eagles will host the current leaders of the regional league.
Eintracht Frankfurt II is currently in its second regional league season since the U21s were re-established in 2022 and won the Hessenliga championship the following year. Last season, Eintracht “Zwo” played for the championship and promotion to the third division. At the end of the season, SGE II finished sixth in the table. SGE U21 has been coached by head coach Dennis Schmitt since July 2024. Despite the differences in the standings, the small city derby is sure to be a tough one, as both Frankfurt teams desperately need the next three points for their current situations.
Eintracht’s U21s got off to a poor start in the league. In the first six match days, the Adler only picked up one point. It was not until the seventh and eighth matchdays that Frankfurt won and collected their first three points. After eleven league games, Eintracht has eight points and is in 16th place in the relegation zone.
