FSV takes on the Mosel Stadium on Saturday.
SV Eintracht-Trier vs. FSV Frankfurt
FSV Frankfurt won the Hesse Cup quarter-final at SC Willingen last Wednesday evening and have now advanced to the semi-finals, where the Bornheim side will host third-division side Wehen Wiesbaden at home in the PSD Bank Arena at the end of April. In the league, the Black & Blues won 5:1 at Barockstadt Fulda last Saturday and must now face Eintracht Trier tomorrow Saturday afternoon.
Head coach Tim Görner’s team welcomed the promoted side on the eighth matchday of the current regional league season. After Lucas Hermes took the lead early on, FSV conceded the equalizer less than 15 minutes later. In the final phase, the home side really turned up the heat and scored within five minutes through Lukas Gottwalt and again through Hermes to make the final score 3:1.
The newly promoted Oberliga side kicked off the 2024/2025 Regionalliga Südwest season with a surprising 4:1 home win against FC 08 Homburg. Head coach Thomas Klasen’s team remained unbeaten for three matchdays in a row. Disillusionment followed on matchday four at FC-Astoria Walldorf, with Trier suffering a 5-0 away defeat. Over the course of the season, Eintracht experienced constant ups and downs. After the 2:2 draw in the last league duel with Offenbacher Kickers, the Mosel team is currently eighth in the table and will have nothing more to do with relegation.
