Contract extension: Gottwalt remains a black and blue player
FSV Frankfurt has extended the contract of central defender Lukas Gottwalt. The 27-year-old defender will remain at the Bornheimer Hang for the Black & Blue next year with the option of a further one-year extension. The defender with an FSV past already played for the Bornheimers as a youth player. Gottwalt already adorned the black and blue jersey for the first team between 2021 and 2022. After further spells in Turkey and with Würzburger Kickers, the 1.93-metre defensive player finally returned to the soccer club in July 2024.
Lukas Gottwalt: “I’m over the moon to have extended my contract with FSV Frankfurt. Anyone who knows me knows how much the club means to me. The development of the last few years has been very positive and I am convinced that our journey is not over yet. That’s why it was important for me personally to stay here and continue to play my part in our success. The new season will bring exciting challenges and I’m looking forward to giving my all with the team to achieve our common goals.”
Tim Görner, Head Coach FSV Frankfurt: “Luki became a top performer and leading player immediately after his return and embodies consistency with his physicality and calmness. He is an elementary stabilizer of the defensive unit, who gives our game security with his experience.”
Robert Lempka, General Manager of FSV Frankfurt: “Lukas is playing a fantastic season and is an absolute asset to FSV, both on a sporting and personal level. I’m delighted that Lukas will continue on this path with us.”
