Bornheim welcome Bahlinger SC
Matchday 6: Bahlinger SC
After FSV Frankfurt won 3:2 at TSG Hoffenheim U23 last Friday evening to remain top of the Regionalliga Südwest table, the Bornheim side will now welcome Bahlinger SC to the PSD Bank Arena next Saturday. The Black & Blues will be looking to extend their winning streak in their next home game.
Bahlinger Sport-Club has been represented in the Southwest Regional Football League since 2019. BSC already played in the fourth-highest league in the 2015/2016 season, but was relegated to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg at the end of the season. Three years later, they were promoted again as Oberliga champions. Since then, the team from Kaiserstuhl has finished each season in mid-table.
Dennis Bührer has been the head coach of Bahlingen since July 2018. The 41-year-old’s team only won against FSV in both the first and second legs of the 2021/2022 season. In the other games, Bahlingen drew twice with the Black & Blues and have also lost five times against the club from southern Hesse.
The current season has started anything but successfully for Bahlinger SC. In the first two matchdays, Bührer’s team lost 1-0 to FC Gießen and 2-0 to FC-Astoria Walldorf. It was only on the third matchday that Bahlingen won 1-0 against promoted Göppinger SV, scoring their first goal of the current season. After the subsequent 2-0 away win at TSV Steinbach Haiger, BSC lost 5-1 at home to Kickers Offenbach. After six games, the team from Baden-Württemberg currently occupy 13th place in the regional league.
During the summer break, Görner’s upcoming opponents welcomed nine new signings and said goodbye to six players. Among others, Hassan Mourad moved to the Bornheimer Hang for the new season.
